GSP 01-24 Consolidation of Change Allowance for Cleaners, Patrols & Working Leaders

Description
The Transformation Agreement with An Post includes provision to consolidate 2.5% of the 12.5% Change Allowance into basic pay for Cleaners, Patrols and Working Leaders. This will be done in the same manner as applied previously for Postal Sorters and Post Office Clerks
Cleaners and Patrols
The pay scales of cleaning and patrols staff will have a new additional increment at the maximum point with effect from 1st January 2022. Any staff member who received their last increment prior to the 1st January 2024 will progress to the new maximum for the grade, the details of which are included at Appendix 1. All other cleaning and patrols staff will progress up the pay scale and will reach the new maximum in due course.
For those staff who are currently in receipt of the Change Allowance this will be reduced to 10% with effect from 1st January 2022. 83.67% of this allowance is pensionable.
Any cleaner or patrol person who retired on or after the 1st January 2022 will be eligible for the consolidation.
Working Leader
The pay scales of the Working Leader will have a new additional increment at the maximum point with effect from 1st January 2023. Any Working Leaders who received their last increment prior to the 1st January 2024, will progress to the new maximum point for the grade, the details of which are at Appendix 1. All other Working Leaders will progress up the pay scale and will reach the new maximum in due course.
For those staff who are currently in receipt of the Change Allowance this will be reduced to 10% with effect from 1st January 2023. 83.67% of this allowance is pensionable.
Any working leader who retired on or after the 1st January 2023 will be eligible for the consolidation.
Retained Allowances
Retained Allowance will be increased for all impacted by the aforementioned consolidation, on a personal to holder basis. The value of the allowance will be increased by 2.5%.
The Company has confirmed that the revised pay scales will be processed on the 2nd February 2024 with arrears paid on the 16th February 2024.
